You are what you eat. How many times have you heard that? Well, it’s true. What you eat has a direct impact on how you feel. Eating the wrong things can lead to depression, anxiety and entire assortment of other things. You can also eat the right things and combat things such as depression and anxiety.
A person’s diet can have an enormous impact on how we feel. Certain vitamins such as vitamin B impact the way the body processes chemicals. For instnace, people with a vitamin B deficiency often feel depressed and sluggish. This is also apparent in the use of “comfort foods”. Sometimes people naturally eat what will make them feel better. However, people also seek comfort in food to the point where it is dangerous to their health.
Food is used all the time to impact a person’s behavior. One example that is common knowledge is how some parents refuse to let their children have sugar because of the impact on their behavior. Items with caffeine increase anxiety levels. Chamomile sooths the nerves.
With a bit of research and the will to make some changes in your diet, you can find the right combination of foods to best impact your mood and state of mind.
