The Fresher, The Better
Raw foods are a great way to get your body into shape and feel your best each and every day. Overly processed foods and those with high starch, salt and sugar can make you feel worse after you eat. Fresh fruits and vegetables not only taste better than prepared foods and look colorful, they also offer a great deal of health benefits. Your preparation time is essentially nothing at all because cooking is either not done at all or done within a few short minutes. You do not want to overcook raw foods because this takes away the fresh food’s natural goodness.
A raw food diet is easy to follow and has a lot of room for variety. There are plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to keep your meals new and exciting. Do not be afraid to try something new. Try making pasta with shredded carrots, zucchini and yellow squash as the noodles. All you have to do is lightly steam these and puree tomatoes, onions and garlic for the sauce. Burritos can also be made raw. It is more like an inside out burrito with romaine lettuce hearts that are filled with fresh veggies and salsa made from blending tomatoes, onions, peaches and cilantro. Mixing your diet with raw foods will make your body smile even if you cannot give up processed foods completely. Remember to take your vitamins and get plenty of water. These two are guaranteed ways to live a long and fruitful or vege-ful life.
